Brüha here again with a list of the top ten events for you to enjoy this September. The sun is setting earlier and back to school is here. But don’t let that bring you down, September is still filled with events and experiences for you to enjoy.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats VS Toronto Argonauts
Event Date: September 4th
Location: Tim Horton’s Field
Admission: Various pricing depending on seats
This classic labour day series returns to Tim Horton’s Field on September 4th. Come out and support the black and gold as they face-off against our rivals, the Toronto Argonauts. You can expect to see and experience a spectacle of events from tailgating, interactive fan zones, and half-time entertainment. Kick-off for the game is at 6:30pm.

Location: James St. North
Officially entering its 9th season, Supercrawl is Hamilton’s notorious Art, Culture and Music festival produced Sonic Unyon. Taking place along James St. North every second weekend of September, this year the festival returns on September 8th to the 10th. It is expected to be a turnout of over 200, 000 people over the course of the whole weekend. Enjoy live art, street art installations, live music, food, drinks and much more. Some musical talents for the weekend include: Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Dwayne Gretzky, B.A. Johnston, The Medicine Hat, and more!

Hosted by the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA, Wiggle Waggle Walk is an annual fundraising walk that aims to raise awareness and funds to help save shelter pets. This year, the walk returns back to its old stomping grounds at Bayfront Park. There is no registration fee and no minimum fundraising amount. Participants are encouraged to register on their own or form a pack for the day! There will be vendors, food trucks and activities for both dogs and humans.

The Binbrook Fair returns to the area on the weekend of September 15th. Founded in 1854, the Fair is one of the longest running Fairs in Ontario. Since its beginning it has provided fun for the entire family. Entertainment and attractions include: Old MacDonald’s Farm, Demo derby, Clowns, Animals (lots of animals!), agricultural displays and live entertainment.
Power Up Mondays: Kick Off Networking Event
Event Date: September 18th
Location: Central Branch – Hamilton Public Library
Kicking off their Fall Power Up Monday Series, the Hamilton Public Library with Hub of the Hammer will be hosting a networking event with panel discussion. This panel discussion will take place from 6:30pm – 7:30pm and will focus on entrepreneurship and the art of the start. Members of the panel will include the Hamilton Freelancers, CoMotion, Ramped Up Catering, Kristin Archer of I Heart Hamilton, The Inlet, and The Generator who will be talking about social media. Bring your business cards, questions and other entrepreneurial friends to connect with like minded business owners in the community.

YogaFest makes its return, this time to Mohawk College on September 20th. Four featured classes will be taught by renowned teachers from Hamilton. Beginning the day off with a heart-pounding Boot Camp leading into a DJ Yoga class. Ending the day off with a Powerful Pilates practise and up-beat dance class! Featuring an all-day Volleyball Tournament and Shoot-Outs in the basketball court, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Large canvases, designed and hand-painted by local artist Alex Harding, will be set-up for students to add colour to and express themselves. Live Music will be hosted in the Arnie, featuring local talented artists sharing their sound and passion.
Redefining Hamilton Gala ’17

Hosted by Habitat for Humanity Hamilton, the Redefining Hamilton ‘17 Gala is themed to celebrate our city in transformation. This event will include engaging experiences with local artists, entertainers, foodies, thought leaders, change makers, influencers and leaders. On Friday, September 22nd, attendees will have the unique opportunity to experience an evening that will be sure to impress. With incredible views of our industrial north-end, our tree-lined escarpment and our iconic downtown skyline.

Kegs4Cncr is an official Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation endorsed event with the mission to raise awareness and funds for McMaster Children’s Hospital. On September 23rd, the inaugural Kegs4Cncr will be taking place at the Collective Arts Brewery and is co-hosted by Nickel Brook Brewery. Entertainment for the night includes backyard games in the Collective Arts Beergarden, a DJ, live music, door prizes, local food vendors and more! All proceeds from the event will be going towards the McMaster Children’s Hospital’s Oncology program to help raise funds for the purchase of medical equipment.
2017 Hamilton Comic Con

Location: Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum (9280 Airport Rd)
Admission: General Admission starting at $29.95
Taking place on September 30th & October 1st at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, the Hamilton Comic Con returns for its 5th year. The Hamilton Comic Con is Hamilton’s premiere pop culture event. Guest can expect to see and experience one massive floor full of vendors, celebs, artists and much more. Some of the appearances will include: Burt Ward, Jon Heder, Karyn Parsons, Shawn Michaels, and more.
Fempreneurs Urban Retreat
Event Date: September 30th
Location: Narula’s Banquet Hall
Admission: $30-$35 (available through Bruha)
On September 30th, the Fempreneurs unite at Narula’s Banquet Hall. There will be a Keynote delivered by Hamilton’s Laura Babcock, plus workshops for women business owners and aspiring fempreneurs. Lunch and snacks are included. The event runs all day from 9am-4pm.
