The Bruha again, is bringing the top 10 events that you must attend during the month of July. Lots of festivals to enjoy and explore this summer. Also don’t forget to celebrate with Canada during it’s 150th birthday!

Sun Salutations and Caesars

DATE: July 9th

LOCATION: Toast Wine Bar

Every perfect Sunday is best spent doing a little yoga. But what goes best with stretching out those muscles? Of course a refreshing caesar! Join the Toast Wine Bar and Trish from Namaste Local, in an afternoon energetic flow routine. After getting your blood flowing, relax with a caesar… or perhaps two! Piece by Piece: Stitching Together Canadian Stories (The Quilt of Belonging Exhibit)

DATE: July 11th – Aug 16th

LOCATION: The Cotton Factory

**This is a Canada 150 signature event **

The Cotton Factory is host to the Quilt of Belonging. A 120-foot textile art project that is made up of 263 blocks, each created to celebrate a different part of Canada. It is made to celebrate the vast diversity in this country along with humanity and compassion among people.

During this exhibit daily programming will be included. A range of activities to include different cultural groups within the region of Hamilton, Halton and Brant to help celebrate this nation. Weekly demonstrations, workshops, performances, and concerts are part of some of the event happenings. Don’t forget to be part of the grand opening that is happening on July 10th. Lou Don’t Know Jack Trivia Night

DATE(S): Every Tuesday Evening (July 11th, 18th and 25th)

LOCATION: Lou Dawgs

Test your knowledge with friends and family at Lou Dawg’s weekly trivia night. Hosted by Hub of the Hammer Events. Each week will include a different themed trivia night to test those brains. Enter as friends, leave as champions!

Southern Supper with Chris Chambers

DATE: July 12th

LOCATION: Mississippi Queen Foods

A dinner to enjoy with the family. Mississippi Queen Foods hosts a southern supper series that not only includes great food but is accompanied by the best blues music. Share platters of fresh foods with friends and family while enjoying that soulful music. This supper features the music of Chris Chambers, a local veteran musician and songwriter.

Tom Wilson and Friends

DATE: July 15th

LOCATION: The Cotton Factory

In accordance with the Quilt of Belonging’s concert series this evening will be jammed packed of great music. Enjoy the night at Theatre Aquarius in the presence of a Canadian legend, a famed storyteller and visual artist. Tom Wilson. Be sure to secure your spot for this concert highlight with Bruha!

Hamilton Cocktail Showcase

DATE: July 18th

LOCATION: Bay City Hall

A night to not only give back to the community but also enjoy a platform were industry professionals showcase their craft. Back for its 6th year don’t miss out on the cocktail showcase.  Watch head to head competitions of the best bartenders in the area secure their spot as the winner! Be sure to stay for the final round were full creativity will be tested with a secret ingredient and a block box spirit. Speed, presentation and taste will all be judged. Hamilton Fringe Festival

DATE: July 20th – 30th

LOCATION: Downtown Hamilton (various venues)

*Tickets range from $10.00-$12.00 per show*

A jammed packed festival filled with more than 400 performances. 50 companies will offer a performance of a life time in comedies, magic shows, dramas, musicals, dance and so much more. Downtown Hamilton will be home for these performances that can be enjoyed by all. Be sure to watch the many talents of local artists and actors, and show them your appreciation for their talents.

Hamilton World Music Festival

DATE: July 21st – 23rd

LOCATION: Gage Park

Something that everyone world wide can come to together and enjoy. Music. This festival is to help celebrate all cultures and genres on the Hamilton stage. Including local talents along with major Canadian and international artists, be sure to enjoy high caliber music this summer.

Grease Sing-Along!

DATE: July 22nd

LOCATION: The Zoetic Theatre

GO GREASE LIGHTNIN’! Enjoy the thrill of singing and belting out your favourite songs from Grease in a theatre full over other musical lovers. Staff will teach you the hand jive so you can dance and sing along to a classic. So grab your Sandy or Danny to hand jive, because Rock n Roll is here to stay!

2017 Con Bravo Geek Festival

DATE: July 28th-30th

LOCATION: Hamilton Convention Centre

Let your inner geek out and partake in this three-day festival of YouTube, gaming, music, anime and everything else you could possibly desire. A Festival dedicated to fandom.
