When I look at this month’s cover, I can’t help but think about the concept of heroes. Growing up, my heroes were (and still are) my siblings. They were older, wiser, and infinitely cooler than me. I’m sure you had your fair share of heroes growing up as well. Now, looking around Hamilton, we have no shortage of heroes. Heroes in Hamilton come in all shapes and sizes. They are the small business owners who have taken the plunge and opened up their doors. They are the developers who are building places to live, work and play. They are the politicians who work everyday for people in their wards. They are the artists who paint, draw and express the city in unique ways. They are the people who have invested in Hamilton by buying houses. They are the people standing up for what’s right, and being a voice for people who don’t have one. As David Bowie said “We can be heroes, just for one day.” It doesn’t have to be big, it doesn’t have to be public and broadcasted. We get an extra day this month, how can you use it to be a hero for your city?
